BVB's second biggest transfer after the departure of Ousmane Dembélé in the summer of 2017

This is BVB's second biggest transfer after the departure of Ousmane Dembélé in the summer of 2017 to FC Barcelona for €105 million (+ €42 million bonuses). This transfer comes a little more than 72 hours after the announcement of the departure from Real Madrid of the French center forward Karim Benzema, who made the choice to leave for Saudi Arabia after spending 14 seasons in the colors of Madrid, between 2009 and 2023. The arrival of Bellingham (19) at Real, will allow the "White House" to continue the renewal of its midfield, aging with the thirty-year-old Croatian Luka Modric (37) and German Toni Kroos (33).

Revealed at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar

It comes after the recruitments last summer of the young Frenchman Aurélien Tchouaméni (23), and another Frenchman, Eduardo Camavinga (20), in the summer of 2021. A nugget of English football and revealed during the 2022 World Cup in Qatar (quarter-final loss to France), Bellingham spent three seasons with the Yellow and Blacks of Borussia Dortmund, becoming this season the centerpiece of Edin Terzic's midfield. Bellingham, who will celebrate their 20th birthday on June 29, narrowly missed out on the German league title, losing on the final day on the lawn of the Westfalenstadion, to Bayern Munich.
