In the first half, sad scenes unfolded in the Conference League final between Fiorentina and West Ham.

Fiorentina captain Cristiano Biraghi was about to take a corner, then plastic cups rained down on him.

A couple of mugs hit him together with what appeared to be an orange electric cigarette, whereupon the captain mockingly applauded to the supporters. He also began bleeding heavily from his head and had to finish the rest of the match with a bandaged head.

The second half really got going when Said Benrahma scored the 1-0 goal from the penalty spot, after the ball hit Biraghi's hand.

"La Viola" responded to the goal after just five minutes when Giacomo Bonaventura scored the equalizer.

Fiorentina then pushed for the lead goal and the pace of the match increased considerably.

Goal in the final seconds decided

But with seconds left of regular game time, West Ham struck.

Supporter favourite Jarrod Bowen slammed in the decisive goal and West Ham won the first title since the FA Cup title in 1980 – 43 years ago.
