"Thank you very much! I didn't understand anything, just the siren sounded and I started. I was told: save up your strength - I don't know what happened next. Judging by the shouts of the audience, I realized that I seemed to be in the lead, and I ran as best I could. How to perform in such a company? Star company, I immediately said that I do not claim a medal, but it was a tactical move, of course, I wanted to win, but I understood that it would be difficult," Karjakin said.

The event is held as part of the Athletics Week, organized by the Department of Sports of the city of Moscow together with the All-Russian Athletics Federation as part of the celebration of the 100th anniversary of Moscow sports.

Earlier, figure skaters ran 60 m at the Athletics Week.
