Milan's Zlatan Ibrahimovic has announced his retirement from football after a long career spanning more than 20 years.

Al-Sultan missed Milan for most of the matches of the 2022-2023 season due to injury, as he participated in only 4 matches, all of which were in Serie A, scoring one goal.

Ibra underwent surgery in June 2022 that kept him out of action for eight months.

Milan fans had said goodbye to their "star" in a solemn way that cried Ibrahimovic, the coach and the players.

Ibrahimovic, 41, played 144 minutes spread over the four matches:

  • Udinese (76 minutes away)
  • Atalanta (16)
  • Fiorentina (24)
  • Salernitana (28)

The newspaper believes that Ibrahimovic is no longer able to get out of this impasse, and the idea of retirement began to dominate him, despite his previous statements rejecting it.

Ibrahimovic returned to Milan on January 2020, <> from Los Angeles, to wear the "Rossoneri" shirt in a second era.

Ibrahimovic helped Milan win the Serie A title in the 2021-2022 season for the 19th time in the club's history.

During his triumphant career on the pitch, the Swedish star played with:

  • Swedish Malmo
  • Dutch Ajax
  • Italian Juventus
  • Italian Inter Milan
  • Spanish Barcelona
  • AC Milan (two periods)
  • Paris Saint-Germain
  • Los Angeles Galaxy American
