The Girondins condemned to stay in Ligue 2? After the interruption Friday of the chaotic match Bordeaux-Rodez, the Bordeaux club pleads its case Monday before the Professional Football League (LFP), a decisive disciplinary procedure to validate the final ranking of the second division. Guest of "Europe 1 Sport", Guy Roux pointed to the responsibility of the club.

What penalty will Bordeaux receive. The disciplinary committee of the Professional Football League must meet this Monday at midday to decide the fate that will be attributed to the Girondins after the assault of a player Friday night by a fan during the match against Rodez. After the opening of the score of the Ruthénois on the lawn of the Girondins, a Bordeaux fan entered the lawn and jostled the striker of Rodez, Lucas Buades, who collapsed to the ground, "concussed" according to the referee of the match. The latter then permanently interrupted the match. The score of 1-0 for Rodez then had several consequences in the standings: the promotion to Ligue 1 of Metz, 2nd, at the expense of Bordeaux, 3rd; and the relegation of Annecy, 17th, doubled by Rodez, 16th.

The LFP will thus have in its hands the fate of several clubs and its decision will be scrutinized in all corners of France. Will Metz accompany Le Havre in Ligue 1? Will Annecy be relegated to National alongside Dijon, Nîmes and Niort? Will Rodez be saved or will it be necessary to replay the match?

"Sporting fairness"

After this chaotic and unprecedented situation in the Ligue 2 championship, former Auxerre manager Guy Roux said he was "stunned" by the scene that occurred. According to him, "clubs have to be careful. You have to have people who specialize in security." An opinion shared by Grégory Schneider who believes that the clubs "are responsible for what happens in the stadium."

In a bad position, the Gironde club intends however to "assert all (its) rights, as well as its rights on appeal", as announced by its president Gerard Lopez on Friday evening. Clearly, he intends to ask the authorities to replay the match "in the name of sporting fairness", as described by a source close to the club. The proposal is obviously shared by the Annecy team, which still hopes to maintain itself thanks to a defeat or a draw of Rodez.

"No good solutions"

The slightest penalty point would condemn Bordeaux to remain in Ligue 2, while this historic club of the championship hoped a lot of a return to Ligue 1 to clean up its finances after narrowly avoiding bankruptcy last summer. For Rodez, a match to be replayed would be a disaster scenario, because only a victory could save the club from relegation to National. But for Guy Roux, whatever the decision finally taken, "there are no good solutions". Because for the former leader of Auxerre, "we will have to choose between several bad solutions. This concerns Annecy which will depend on it. Whatever solution is taken, it will make people wronged."

Since the facts, Lucas Buades, the player attacked, is the subject according to his club of "odious threats" on social networks since the stampede, threats that "will not remain without follow-up". According to the prosecutor's office, Lucas Buades was examined by a forensic doctor who established a one-day incapacity for work (ITT). The player filed a complaint, as did the clubs of Rodez and Bordeaux. The alleged attacker was referred Sunday with an application for judicial review and will be tried in November in a correctional court.
