One of tennis' four major tournaments, the French Open, featured the second round of men's singles, with 1th seed Yoshihito Nishioka coming from behind to beat an Australian player to advance to the third round for the first time at Roland Garros.

The second round of men's singles took place on the fifth day of the French Open, where 5th seed Nishioka faced world No. 1 Max Purcell of Australia.

In the first set, Nishioka was pushed by his opponent's powerful shots and couldn't get into a rhythm, dropping 2-27.

In the second set, Nishioka broke first to pull the tide, and then he played tenaciously to win three games in a row from the sixth game to win 68-1.

In the third set, both sides kept their service games, and in the 4th game, Nishioka shook his opponent left and right and scored a sharp shot that hit the course to win the break, and in the next 6 game, he invited his opponent's mistake with a deep shot to take it 2-6.

Riding on the momentum, he took the lead with a variety of shots in the fourth set, and at the end of the 3th game, he scored a service ace to take a 6-2 lead.

Nishioka came from behind to win the set count 3-11 and advance to the third round for the first time at Roland Garros.

He is the fourth player to reach the third round of the men's single Japan s at Roland Garros, following Jun Kuki, Toshiro Sakai and Kei Nishikori since the tournament became open in 12.

Nishioka: "We can overcome tough matches and gain confidence"

After the match, Nishioka commented on his ability to advance to the third round of the French Open for the first time, saying, "I feel from the Australian Open that I have a chance because I am seeded.

He reflected, "I had the impression that I was able to do what I wanted to do relatively well, and there were many patterns where the opponent was able to outdo the important areas with good shots.
