Kane will not join Bayern

It's been a turbulent few days for FC Bayern. Now the focus is on the coming season, the squad is to be significantly strengthened even without a sporting director. For months, Harry Kane has been traded for the vacant position in the storm, but according to the English »Sun« and the »Bild« newspaper, this transfer is now said to have fallen through.

Bayern, where coach Thomas Tuchel is in charge of squad planning together with supervisory board members Uli Hoeneß and Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, are urgently looking for a new striker. Jörg Schmadtke is the new sporting director of Liverpool FC and is to form the team for the coming season together with coach Jürgen Klopp. This could also lead to transfers from the Bundesliga, which is where Schmadtke knows best. As the »Wolfsburger Allgemeine« reports, Schmadtke could even ask his former club Wolfsburg about Micky van de Ven. The Dutchman has had a strong season and the Reds need reinforcements for central defence. Van de Ven is said to cost 40 million euros.

Most recently, rumours had surfaced about a free transfer of the 25-year-old to FC Barcelona next summer.
