Hanfmann, ranked 64th in the world, was the clear favourite for the match. Not least after he reached the quarter-finals of Rome's ATP tournament just last week.

Elias Ymer has played the French Championships twice before. In 2015, he was eliminated in the first round and most recently, in 2018, he reached the second round.

In this year's tournament, he will face one of the world's best players, world number four Casper Ruud, in the first round.

Younger brother Mikael Ymer is directly qualified for the main tournament. He will face 17th-seeded Italian Lorenzo Musetti in the first round.
