For the fourth year in a row, the Swedish ice hockey men miss out on the World Championship medal. This time, the quarter-final exit against Latvia took place in Riga.

Sweden certainly had the chances to score more than one goal in the 1-3 loss, but they did not succeed. They fired 41 shots on goal and played the power play for almost twelve minutes.

"We still have the right mindset for large parts of the game. We do the right things but don't get the puck in. When they get the 2-1 in out of nowhere, it's a cold shower. We keep creating, but we weren't good enough in the powerplay today," Tömmernes said.

Offensive defender Tömmernes has participated in three straight World Cups.

"We've been close. Today we are close. Last year we have 3-0 against Canada before the last period. I can only speak for this team. We are doing everything we can but unfortunately falling short today," he says.
