(hereinafter referred to as CBA Company) announced on May 24 that Yao Ming, chairman of the Chinese Basketball Association, will no longer concurrently serve as the chairman of CBA and appoint Xu Jicheng, vice chairman of the Chinese Basketball Association, as the new chairman of CBA Company.
CBA issued an announcement on the evening of the 24th that the change of head of CBA is in accordance with the research decision of the Party Committee and Chairman's Office of the Chinese Basketball Association on the adjustment of the division of labor of the leadership after the re-election of the Chinese Basketball Association, as well as the relevant provisions of the "Charter of China Basketball Federation (Beijing) Sports Co., Ltd."
It is reported that at the board meeting and shareholders meeting of CBA held on the 24th, the board of directors of the company expressed its gratitude to Yao Ming, chairman of the Chinese Basketball Association, for his outstanding contributions and dedication to promoting the development of the CBA league and leading the CBA company forward during his concurrently serving as chairman of CBA company.
