Khaddi Sagnia, Andreas Almgren and Mondo Duplantis are already ready for the Diamond League gala at Stockholm Stadion on July 2, a competition that SVT broadcasts.

Now another star joins – SVT Sport can reveal that Karsten Warholm is ready for the gala.

SVT's expert Alhaji Jeng is looking forward to seeing the Norwegian, who is the reigning Olympic champion and world record holder in the 400 meter hurdles, in Stockholm.

"Karsten has become a real championship runner, one of the great protagonists of all categories in athletics, who carries athletics on his shoulders. So for the gala to get him to Stockholm is fantastic and I think he will be well prepared when he gets there.

How will he approach the competition?

"Karsten has been saddling up for a few years with a target on his back. He rarely goes into a competition with the intention of finishing second. For him, the World Cup at the end of the season is the big highlight. But all preparations for the World Cup are incredibly important. From the reports I have received, the training has gone very well, says Jeng about Warholm, who has not yet competed outdoors this year.

The World Athletics Championships begin on August 19. The final of the 400 metres hurdles will be held on 23 August.
