The Royal Spanish Football Federation has agreed with the Technical Committee of Referees to dispense with Ignacio Iglesias Villanueva after what happened in Mestalla, when from the VAR only the referee was shown the blow of Vinícius Junior to Hugo Duro and not the previous grab of the neck to the Brazilian, in an action that adds to a long list of complaints from clubs.

Both Iglesias Villanueva, who on Wednesday is designated for the league match between Real Betis and Getafe, and five more VAR referees will leave their post, RFEF sources told EFE.

Real Madrid criticized in a statement the action of Vinícius' expulsion in Valencia and urged the RFEF to take action. "The management that was made by the referees and the VAR we do not perceive it as something isolated, but as something that has been repeated in many of our matches. You can never hold the victim responsible for the crime."

The reaction of the Federation has been immediate and according to federal sources point to EFE, the refereeing direction of the referee De Burgos Bengoechea was unbeatable, the way in which he handled the racist insults to Vinícius, and was led to the error in the expulsion because a part of a video was hidden.

In this way, the RFEF has reacted immediately with its decisions for the VAR, in which they will not be able to continue after fulfilling the maximum two years that José Luis González González and Xavier Estrada Fernández can be in the position.
