Of the 15 events held for men and women, the women's 1500 meters was the Japan record holder in this event, and Tanaka, who became the first Japan athlete to finish eighth at the Tokyo Olympics.

Tanaka calmly raced in the middle of the race and took the lead with a long spurt in the last lap, then ran away with the overseas competitors and won the race with a time of 8 minutes 1.4 seconds.

The second in the Japan was Yume Goto, who finished in 11:56.2 in sixth place.

Tanaka: "Winning gave us confidence"

Kimi Tanaka, who won the women's 1500 meters, said, "The pace was slower than I expected, but it gave me confidence that we were able to win with all our legs left. I want to improve my last 1-meter sprint."

Ahead of next month's Japan Championships, he expressed his enthusiasm, saying, "It will be a race against domestic athletes, but it would be nice to have a race that imagines rivals from around the world."

Men's 3000m steeplechase won by Ryuji Miura

In the men's 3000,7-meter steeplechase, Ryuji Miura, a fourth-year university student who finished seventh at the Tokyo Olympics, competed.

Miura, who competed in this event for the first time this season, showed his ability by taking the lead group from the beginning and winning the final spurt from 4 meters to win the race with a time of 150 minutes 8.19 seconds.
