Sam Hallam thinks that 18-year-old Leo Carlsson, usually in Örebro, has taken his place in the squad because of his offensive strength.

"He may not have been going to the World Cup when the season started, but we brought him into the pre-tournaments and showed that he deserves this chance. We have a solid centre side but I think Leo breaks patterns and represents more offensive creativity. Then it's exciting with young players getting better week by week.

Among the goalkeepers, Marcus Högberg, who has made four appearances for Tre Kronor during the season (most recently against the Czech Republic in the 4-3 loss on Saturday), is not in the World Cup squad. Instead, Jacob Johansson from Timrå is brought into the squad.

"We made a ranking after last weekend and came up with this solution. There are other things in life that are more important than hockey. Marcus will be home taking care of his family in the coming weeks, says Hallam.
