On May 5, the "6 China Fitness Industry Data Report" (hereinafter referred to as the "Report") was officially released, which was jointly produced by the School of Economics and Management of Shanghai University of Sport, Three-Body Cloud and Wanbo Sherwin-Williams under the guidance of the Chinese Bodybuilding Association. At the same time, the "2022 China Fitness Industry City Prosperity Index Ranking" was also released.

The report shows that the number of people participating in sports and fitness in offline fitness venues has decreased in 2022. As of December 2022, there were 12.7145 million offline paid fitness members nationwide, down 4.9% month-on-month, and the frequency of exercise was also reduced to a certain extent, which posed a huge challenge to the operation and survival of offline sports and fitness venues nationwide, and the gym closure rate increased month-on-month, and the fitness industry was in a continuous "shuffling" process of survival of the fittest and survival of the fittest. In 2022, there will be about 13,1 generalized fitness venues nationwide, including 39620,45529 commercial fitness clubs and 5,48 fitness studios, down 12.34% and <>.<>% respectively.

The report points out that the development characteristics and trends of China's fitness industry in 2022 are mainly reflected in three aspects:

First, the industry is still "shuffling". In the past three years, the domestic fitness industry has been in the continuous "shuffling" process of survival of the fittest and survival of the fittest;

Second, fitness venues try online fitness. Liu Genghong's "shuttlecock exercise" has once again set off a boom in online fitness, allowing operators to see the possibility of monetizing online fitness. Gyms started experimenting with online fitness classes or live fitness classes to increase the venue's cash flow;

Third, fitness behaviors are more diversified. People's fitness behavior is not limited to offline gyms, but the concepts of Internet fitness, family fitness, and metaverse fitness have gradually penetrated into people's daily lives.

Specifically, the highlights of the fitness industry in the report are as follows:

1) Fitness consumption data

Women are the main force of the fitness consumer market. The survey results show that female fitness consumers accounted for 61.93%, a rapid increase from 2021, female fitness consumers showed more positive performance, and the gap between women and men in the fitness consumer market widened.

26-35 years old is the largest consumer group. From the perspective of age structure, young people aged 26-35 are the largest group of sports consumption, accounting for 42.34%, followed by groups aged 36-50 and 19-25, accounting for 28.75% and 19.55% respectively.

2) Regional sports and fitness venues

Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region

According to the incomplete statistics of the Three-Body Cloud Data Center, the number of generalized fitness venues in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region in 2022 will be 13866,5504, including 1928,6434 in Beijing, <>,<> in Tianjin and <>,<> in Hebei Province.

Yangtze River Delta region

According to the incomplete statistics of the Three-Body Cloud Data Center, the number of generalized fitness venues in the Yangtze River Delta region in 2022 will be 29578,5807, including 11047,8405 in Shanghai, 4319,<> in Jiangsu Province, <>,<> in Zhejiang Province and <>,<> in Anhui Province.

Pearl River Delta region

According to the incomplete statistics of the Three-Body Cloud Data Center, the number of generalized fitness venues in the Pearl River Delta region in 2022 will be 13355,3644. 3) Fitness industry scale data

4) Fitness venue operation data
