Liverpool star Mohamed Salah is on the cusp of becoming Egypt's most goalscoring player, and could do so if he scores against Brentford in the Premier League at Anfield on Saturday.

Salah has 313 goals during his career with clubs and the national team, after scoring Liverpool's 1-<> win over Fulham from the penalty spot on Wednesday, equaling the tally of former Egypt captain Hossam Hassan, according to the "Five Star Football" application specialized in statistics.

Abu Makkah has 185 goals with Liverpool since his move in 2017, and needs a single goal to equal the number of former captain Steven Gerrard, as he shares with him fifth place in the list of historical scorers for the club and led by Ian Rush with 346 goals.

The 30-year-old Egypt captain is Liverpool's top scorer in the Premier League with 136 goals.

In addition to Salah's goals with Liverpool, he scored 34 goals with Roma, 9 goals with Fiorentina, two goals with Chelsea and 20 goals with Basel and 12 goals with his first team, the Arab Contractors. He also scored 51 goals for the national team.

Liverpool are fifth in the league with 59 points, 4 points behind Manchester United, fourth in the standings, who have one game postponed in the fight to qualify for the Champions League.
