"There are definitely rumors that players have already been asked," said Lindberg, who believes the LPGA needs to find some kind of cooperation, just like the European Tour (LET), where Saudi oil company Aramco has several events.

Young star Maja Stark also believes that the LPGA Tour will have a tough time if a women's LIFE is created.

"Unfortunately, I don't think we (LPGA) have enough players that people are interested in, so if half of them go to another tour, I really think the LPGA Tour is going to have problems.

Stark sees the collaboration with Aramco, which LET has, as positive for women's golf as it has created opportunities for many players to be able to make a living from their golf. But she herself does not intend to play any more in Saudi Arabia.

"No, I didn't feel well when I was in the country. I had a bad gut feeling. When you know what's going on outside of the ropes, no it just feels bad to me," Stark said.
