At the curling mixed doubles world championships, Japan beat England 4-12 in the fourth round of the qualifying round, extending their winning streak to their first four wins.

At the Mixed Doubles Curling World Championship in South Korea, 20 teams are divided into two groups for a round-robin qualifying league, with the top three teams from each group advancing to the semifinals and playoffs.

World No. 2 Japan featured Chiaki Matsumura and Yasuma Tanida in their fourth match on 3 June against world No. 13 England.

Japan scored one run, Tanida flicked the opponent's stone well on the fourth pitch of the second end to score four runs.

However, in the fourth end, Japan missed shots one after another, and this time the opponent scored four points and the score was reversed to 24-4.

However, in the fifth end, Tanida succeeded in a double takeout that knocked out two of his opponent's stones, and scored four points to come back from behind again.

Japan added four more points in the seventh end to make it 19-1, and England conceded the loss and the game was over.

Japan have won four consecutive matches without a loss since the start of the qualifying round, and remain in first place in the group.

After the match, Matsumura looked ahead to the next match, saying, "We had four goals at the end, but I'm glad we were able to refocus and win the match.

Tanida also said, "We have been preparing a lot over the past year, and we have been able to show what we have been discussing from the beginning.
