The International Federation of Football "FIFA" announced on Monday the transfer of the U-20 World Cup scheduled from May 20 to June 11 / June, to Argentina instead of Indonesia after stripping it of hosting, for refusing to participate in Israel.

FIFA said on its website after a meeting of its board office that the tournament would bring together 24 teams and "Argentina will replace Indonesia as the host country."

Argentina has won the title six times, a record in the history of the tournament it had previously organized in 6.

The authority added that the draw for the U-20 World Cup will be held on Friday at the headquarters of "FIFA" in the Swiss city of Zurich.

Hours before the approval decision, Argentina officially confirmed that it was ready to host the U-20 World Cup, after Indonesia was stripped of the hosting following its objection to Israel's participation.

Economy Minister Sergio Massa and Argentine FA President Claudio Tapia signed the financial and administrative guarantees requested by FIFA, Tapia said.

The head of the local football federation said in a brief video issued by the Ministry of Economy that a "technical visit" was due to end on Monday to supervise the stadiums on which the matches will be held as well as training camps.

Several cities in Indonesia were due to host the U-20 World Cup, but at the end of March, FIFA stripped the Asian country of hosting.

The announcement followed the decision to cancel the draw, following a call by two Indonesian provincial governors to exclude Israel from the tournament.
