The former national team defender Pontus Jansson is ready for a return to Malmö FF. The club he represented between 2009-2014.

He joins in the summer and signs a contract until 2027.

"Welcome home, Pontus Jansson," the club wrote on their social media while their website crashed when the news was released.

"During my years abroad, I always thought that this day would come, when I would once again be ready for Malmö FF. Now that it is here, there is no one happier than me. I want to thank you for all the support and love I have received over the years and the only thing I can do is now pay back on the pitch, says Jansson.

Injured himself this weekend

In this weekend's game against Newcastle, the 32-year-old went out injured and looks set to miss the rest of the Premier League season.

Jansson has represented Brentford since 2019 and quit the national team after Euro 2021.
