There was no play in the third semi-final due to an injury, but tonight Växjö's captain Erik Josefsson was back in the lineup and it only took just under three minutes before he proved his worth by scoring the 1–0 goal against Frölunda.

Then there was not much more playing time for Josefsson. In fact, it was only two minutes and 24 seconds seen over the entire match.

The rest of the time he spent on the bench to fire up his teammates.

"It's an important play. He has an important function in our team so he is out here pushing the guys, says Växjö's assistant coach Nicklas Rahm in C More.

From that position, Josefsson saw Joachim Blichfeldt extend Växjö's lead to 2–0 in the second period and then Frölunda could not get up.

Thus, Växjö improved their poor away record against Frölunda. Today's victory was only their second in the last 14 attempts.

On Saturday they meet again, this time in Växjö.
