Jenniina Nylund scored a hat-trick for Finland and Luleå strikers Petra Nieminen and Viivi Vainikka both had two goals and two assists.

Jenni Hiirikoski made her first competitive match after the horror injury in the second Swedish Championship final when the Luleå star got a skate splint over her neck.

The star was lucky in the bad luck, there was no deep wound and after surgery she was able to go home from the hospital the same day.

Two assists for the veteran

The following evening she stood in Luleå's booth and watched her teammates win another Swedish Championship gold.

Hiirikoski played in Finland's friendly match before the tournament against Canada and in the opener there were two assists for the veteran who does not seem to have any consequences of the accident. She had the most playing time in the Finnish team with 21.27 in ice time.

The 36-year-old Hiirikoski is the most World Cup player of all time and is making his 15th career World Cup tournament.

Finland plays in Group B together with, among others, Sweden. The women's crowns play their first World Cup match on Thursday against Germany.
