After an even start, Luleå made a move midway through the first period that was to be the game-decisive. The home team went from 9-9 to a 23-11 lead in five minutes. The last four points were scored by Allis Nystrom on a penalty throw after being fouled.
Ostersund failed to creep any closer in the second period and lost it as well. At intermission, Luleå's lead was 48-26 after 14 points by Bria Gross and 12 by Brooke McCarty-Williams.
Luleå controlled the match and won the first semi-final of the best-of-five unchallenged. The final score was 84-55.
Goss was the best scorer with 20, shadowed by McCarty-Williams who stayed on 18.
The next game will be played on Tuesday 4 April, also at home. In case of victory, Luleå secures a place in the Swedish Championship final.
In the other semi-final, Södertälje and Norrköping meet. There, Södertälje leads with 1-0 in games.
