Hans von Uthmann has been a member of SOK's board for twelve years and has been acting vice chairman since the end of 2022. He has been elected as the nomination committee's proposal to take over as chairman for the next two years.
The post is to be filled since Mats Årjes chose to resign to the consequences of allegations of sexual harassment. The mandate is therefore valid for two years, until the by-election.
"Of the proposed candidates, we believe Hans is the right person with the breadth of board experience in both sports and business that he possesses," says Patrik Tengwall, Chairman of the Nomination Committee.
Two more names proposed for the position are the Swedish Sports Confederation's outgoing chairman Björn Eriksson and SOK's former vice chairman Per Palmström.
