You knew the little yellow ball collectors at Roland-Garros. Here are the rugby ball collectors. The French federation and the organization of the 2023 World Cup, which begins in less than six months in France, are launching a vast call for applications to recruit young volunteers.

On a rugby field, they are more discreet than the ball collectors at Roland-Garros, but they are nevertheless very present. More than 500 volunteer collectors will be needed during the 48 matches of the next Rugby World Cup, when the balls leave the field and they will have to be put back into play quickly.

Olivier Lièvremont is the national technical director (DTN) of the French rugby federation, which is launching a recruitment competition with the GIP France 2023: "At the moment, we are in the race for the most important effective playing time. These ball collectors, they really participate in the show, when there is a stoppage of play, a touch exit, an exit of goal." The DTN continues: "The idea is really to involve the clubs, to involve young people in a competition, the ball collectors' contest France 2023."
