Sébastien Loeb is back on the screens but, this time, to reveal some of his intimacy. This new documentary, entitled "Sébastien Loeb: eternal pilot", will be broadcast Sunday evening on Canal +. The man with nine WRC titles spoke to "Europe 1 Sport".

Open heart. Sébastien Loeb, the rally driver with nine WRC world titles, returns to the front of the stage with a new documentary entitled "Sébastien Loeb: eternal driver" directed by Romain de L'Écotais and Damien Miloch. It will be broadcast Sunday evening on Canal +. Invited on the show Europe 1 Sport (every evening from 20 pm to 23 pm live on Europe 1), the 49-year-old Frenchman accepted the cameras in his privacy for an entire year, between 2021 and 2022.

Usually very discreet about his personal life, this documentary was for Sébastien Loeb the opportunity to have "a beautiful memory for his daughter" Valentine. "I thought it can be nice for everyone and to have a memory a little later. And it's true that the result is rather pleasant, "he enthused at the microphone of Céline Géraud.

"Pseudo-retirement"

The teams of the encrypted chain followed the former world rally champion at home, in his family cocoon, but also during his races. Because although the Alsatian is retired, he occasionally returned at the wheel of a car last season. Sébastien Loeb had participated in four rallies in 2022 with the M-Sport team, notably winning the Monte-Carlo at the opening of the season.

"I have taken a pseudo retirement," admitted Sébastien Loeb in Europe 1 Sport. "When you love, you have a hard time stopping," he justified himself, sketching a smile in the corner. Since his retirement as a driver, announced at the end of 2012, the native of Haguenau has "discovered other disciplines" like the Dakar. For the moment, Sébastien Loeb has no other deadlines set to come. But one thing is certain, the former WRC champion is a man of challenge. He will not hesitate to take on new challenges.
