The athlete died at the age of 30, the press service of the Freestyle Federation of Russia (FFR) reports.
"Many people remember Paul as a kind, sympathetic and brave man. The staff of the FFR expresses deep and sincere condolences to the family, friends and colleagues of Pavel Krotov," the report said.
Krotov is the winner of the 2021 World Championships in team acrobatics, and he also won bronze at the World Championships in singles. He won the World Cup twice. He has been a member of the Russian national team since 2011, during which time he participated in two Olympics (2014, 2018).
Earlier it was reported that the British rugby player was found dead 14 months after the disappearance.
