Kristianstad finished fourth in the Swedish damallsvenskan last year and is tipped by SVT's expert Hanna Marklund to be involved in challenging for the Swedish Championship gold this year. At home against Kalmar, they also got the best possible start to the season.

The lead was 3-0 already after the first half after offensive delivery by Emmi Alanen and Evelyne Viens.

Alanen cracked the zero after nine minutes when, after neatly worked free, she was free-played in front of goal to make it 1-0. The 31-year-old then became a two-goal scorer when she made it 3-0 at the end of the half, set up by Viens.

The Canadian, who won the scoring title last year with 21 goals and 10 assists, set up the 2-0 goal himself after receiving the ball and turning away his coverage in the 41st minute.

Kalmar reduced in the second half but the victory was never threatened and Kristianstad won 3-1.
