Emma Sralla has both American and Swedish citizenship but, like Armand Duplantis, has chosen to compete for Sweden.

She grew up in Texas with an American father and a Swedish mother.

During the highscool Jesuit-Sheaner Relays competitions in Dallas this weekend, she threw 59.03, a new Swedish junior record, over two meters longer than her previous record of 56.38.

"It was a great feeling and I know I can throw further. This was just a competition, but I will take it with me to throw even further ahead. I feel proud to be able to improve my Swedish junior record and set a new club record in Spårvägens FK, says Emma Sralla in a press release.

Last summer, Emma Sralla won gold in discus at the World Junior Championships in Athletics.

Anna Söderberg holds the Swedish record in discus at 64.54.
