This Sunday, Italian Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati), reigning MotoGP world champion, won the Portuguese Grand Prix on Sunday, the first round of the season, ahead of Spaniard Maverick Vinales (Aprilia). Starting from pole position on the Portimao circuit, Marc Marquez (Honda) retired after a violent collision.

Italy's Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati), the reigning MotoGP world champion, won the Portuguese Grand Prix on Sunday, the first round of the season, ahead of Spain's Maverick Vinales (Aprilia).

Italian Marco Bezzecchi (Ducati-VR46) completed the podium. Starting from pole position on the Portimao circuit, the Spaniard Marc Marquez (Honda) retired after a violent collision he caused with the Portuguese Miguel Oliveira (Aprilia-RNF). While Marquez escaped without serious injury, Oliveira was taken to the circuit's medical center.
