The first match will be between Yamaguchi Hikari High School and Yamanashi Gakuin.
Hikari pitched a shutout in the first game when ace pitcher Hayato Masuda struck out 1 to lead his team to its first win in the spring and summer at Koshien. The pitching of Masuda seems to be the key to this match as well.

The third match will be between Kaisei High School in Nagasaki and Koryo High School in Hiroshima.
