Fähndrich finished fifth in the semifinals and eliminated. Thus, it was enough for Dahlqvist to finish fifth in the final to secure the sprint cup. The Swede finished fourth and the happiest person of the day at the Lahti ski stadium.

"There's been pressure on me for weeks, but I've been able to control it. It was difficult conditions today and I'm disappointed," Fähndrich said.

Moa Illar released Dahlqvist. What do you say to that?

"She has a strong team around her. It is what it is and I'm from a smaller country. I wanted to win for me and the team.

But Maja wouldn't have been in the final if Moa hadn't stopped?

"That was the team's tactic. Sweden has a big team and they worked for each other and not against each other. I don't know if I've done the same thing," Fähndrich said.
