Team Hasselborg took on an in-form Scotland at the home World Cup in Sandviken with a fourth straight victory in sight.

The match would turn out to be an even story where Sweden showed moments of fine play. But Team Hasselborg invited Scotland through costly misses.

An even and high-scoring first half of the game led to a 5-5 tie after six rounds. But in the seventh round, Sweden showed the form the team had in recent championships. Two Swedish points and up in the lead with 7-5.

"The stone is absolutely perfect, it doesn't get much better than that. So great to see the will and the hunger, says expert Eva Lund after a decisive draw from Anna Hasselborg.

Hasselborg decided

Skipper Anna Hasselborg came to pull in another masterful final stone in the ninth round. Something that turned out to be decisive. After measurement, it could be confirmed that there were two Swedish points.

The match was controlled home by Sweden in the tenth round. Team Hasselborg won 9-6.

"It really wasn't a given as the ice shifts something incredible. We're still learning with every stone," Sara McManus said after the game.

Second best in the World Cup

Over the last five games, Sweden has won four, and lost one. That makes Team Hasselborg the world championship's second strongest team after Switzerland, who are unbeaten after nine games played.

"Nothing comes for free, so we will work hard in the future. It's important to continue to befriend the ice and do the job," Sara McManus told SVT Sport after the game.

Tonight awaits match at 19:00 against South Korea, last year's World Cup runner-up. Sweden is tied for second in the table before the match.
