Sweden has wind in its sails after yesterday's important victory against Japan, to say the least. Even before the match, Sweden delivered the world championship's best draw to date for the last stone in the first round.

In an initially tentative game against Norway, Sweden took two points in the third round. And through an accurate game, Team Hasselborg was able to increase further in the sixth round through a three-pointer to 5-1.

"Sweden can beat any team in this championship. It's a gold game," says expert Eva Lund about the Swedish effort.

A bit unnecessarily exciting – again

Towards the end, Sweden looked like they could close out the game. But just like against Japan, the match went further than the team intended.

"We're playing a great game and a good team effort. A bit exciting at the end but we felt we had the grip," Agnes Knochenhauer said after the game.

Top match awaits

The U.S. is waiting for Team Hasselborg at 19:00 p.m. tonight. A tough match beforehand.

"Against the top nations, it's 50-50. It's important to set the first round and the confidence will come," coach Kristian Lindström said ahead of the evening.

Sweden now has four wins and three losses in seven games during the group stage of the World Cup. Team Hasselborg is thus tied for fourth in the table with five games left to play.
