Sara Grahn, 34, was part of the national team back in 2006/2007 and was involved in bringing home a World Cup bronze to the Women's Crowns.

But last year, the veteran, who played in the gold team Luleå, was poked to the World Cup by head coach Ulf Lundberg and since then she has not been involved.

When Lundberg released the World Cup squad to Canada, Grahn's name was a fluke. She herself was shocked when she received the call earlier this week.

"But it didn't take many minutes before I accepted.

Why were you shocked?

"We haven't had such a great dialogue during the year, that's probably why I was shocked... But shocked in a good way.

Revenge after the poking

Grahn has previously said that there may not be another national team game for her, and the selection was a nice revenge.

- Yes aboslut. It will be great fun to go away and put on the national team jersey again. Somewhere I didn't think it would happen, when the question came I was quick and accepted.

Ulf Lundberg called Grahn the best goalkeeper on this side of the Atlantic and thinks the relationship with Grahn is good the previous poke.

"It's always the case that players are disappointed when you don't come along and it's conversations you have to take and handle. I have never experienced a problem with Sara during my time, says Lundberg.

Started the final with victory

Grahn was in the goal when the final series in the SDHL began on Friday and Luleå won the away game against Brynäs with 6-1 - after five goals in the last period.

" Incredibly nice. I think it's a little two-period position war. But we have the game really the whole game and then the pucks fall into the last.

The team has put itself in a good position to win the fifth straight Swedish Championship gold – the fourth for Grahn. The team has the chance to decide at home when the next two games (on Sunday and Monday) are played in Luleå.

The World Cup will be played from April 5–16 in Brampton, Canada.
