Previously, the website of the Chinese Basketball Association issued a relevant penalty notice on February 2, which determined that the Xinjiang men's basketball team constituted a registration violation. According to the relevant provisions of the Disciplinary Guidelines and Punishment Regulations of the Chinese Basketball Association and the Measures for the Registration and Administration of the Chinese Basketball Association, the Discipline and Ethics Committee of the Chinese Basketball Association imposed penalties on the Xinjiang men's basketball team.
On the night of the penalty notice, the official announcement of Xinjiang Guanghui Basketball Club late at night said that the club decided to withdraw from the remaining games and the CBA league.
The announcement said that on February 2, the Discipline and Ethics Committee of the Basketball Association held that Xinjiang Guanghui Basketball Club "registered illegally" and made serious mistakes and unreasonable and absurd "punishments", which seriously violated the legitimate rights and interests of Xinjiang Guanghui Basketball Club. Xinjiang Guanghui Basketball Club believes that this "punishment" violates the facts, violates laws and regulations, and does not conform to normal work procedures, and cannot be recognized and will never be accepted.

CBA officials said in today's announcement, "In order to make the healthy and orderly development of Chinese basketball and CBA leagues, jointly maintain the integrity of the league, better give back to the society and serve fans, after in-depth communication with relevant parties and approval by the Chinese Basketball Association, CBA held an extraordinary shareholders' meeting on March 2023, 3 to deliberate and vote, and agreed that Xinjiang Guanghui Basketball Club will resume participation in the 15-2022 CBA League." ”
