Brynäs got off to a real dream start against Malmo when Greg Scott sent in 1–0 after 2:38, his second goal in the negative qualifier after going goalless for a month and a half, and three minutes later Johan Larsson extended his lead to 2–0 after raking in a rebound.

But then the fun ended for Brynäs.

First Matias reduced Lassen and then Lukas Wernblom equalised before the match clock had reached ten minutes.

And after that, it was Malmö for the whole penny. Brynäs only got one shot on goal in the second period which the home team won 1–0 after a goal by Adam Ollas Mattsson.

In the third, Brynäs played up a bit but when Marcus Sylvegård sent in 4–2 on the powerplay it looked run and so was it.

The last goal of the match was scored in the open box by 17-year-old Anton Wahlberg.
