Coach Moriyasu: "The best squad to build up for the future"

At the press conference, coach MORIYASU Hajime of the Japan National Team commented on the squad for the match that will restart the match three years from now, saying, "We have selected the best squad for the future."

Regarding the omission of YOSHIDA Maya, who captained the team at the World Cup Qatar, and veteran NAGATOMO Yuto, he said, "They supported me in building the team and I feel that they are a very big part of me as a coach, but the question is how much I can improve my Japan when they are gone. I want to make it stronger so that we can build the strongest Japan national team in the future."

As for the four first-time players, he said: "They are each of the players who have a presence in the team and have special characteristics, so I want the inexperienced and young players to develop. I want the players selected this time to show their presence in the national team."
