Rebecca Peterson is through to the last 16 of the major WTA tour event in Indian Wells, California after producing an impressive turnaround against 39-ranked Swiss Jil Teichmann on Sunday night.

After losing the first 6–3, the 27-year-old went out and won the next two 6–3 and 6–1.

Now the American prodigy Coco Gauff, 18, is most likely waiting in the eighth.

Gauff meets the 54-ranked Czech Linda Noskova tonight and is the big favorite in advance.

Peterson has fallen below the 100 mark in the world rankings after peaking at 43rd in 2019.
