The Italian Edoardo Zorzi had an abrupt end to the World Cup competition in Veyzonnaz, Switzerland.

He crashed heavily in his round of 16.

- It came to a halt and looked a bit nasty.

He got the line completely wrong, said Viaplay's expert commentator Lars Lewén.

- It's lucky that the net is there, otherwise he would have ended up straight in the spinach, added commentator Rickard Olsson.

Zorzi was able to go down to the finish on his own machine after the crash.

"Haven't seen a worse litter"

A couple of heats later came the next big crash.

Yannick Gunsch, Italy, lost control in the middle of a jump and safely flew about 30 meters and landed hard on his back.

- I haven't seen a worse litter this season.

Hope that went well, said Olsson.

- It was a really brutal crash.

A great flight, said Lewén.

Gunsch needed a while to recover but was finally able to leave the hill on his own.
