24-year-old star Elias Pettersson made the decision in Monday morning's game against Nashville.
In the first period, he broke the deadlock in the match - through a pull shot that stopped the goalkeeper.
The goal was his 30th of the season.
Decided by penalty
Vancouver led for a long time, but in the third period Nashville equalized and penalties were required to reach a decider.
Then Pettersson stepped forward again.
He coolly slotted the decisive penalty and Vancouver won 4–3.
