Jonathan Svensson was called up to the national team - but didn't even have time to arrive in Linköping before he was forced to withdraw his offer.

In the final minute of yesterday's match against Lugi in the Handball League, he received a blow which means that the 25-year-old is now forced to give up his first collection with the A national team.

- We have had a few dropouts, and it is clear that it is boring.

I wish Jonathan and the others to recover, says national team captain Glenn Solberg to SVT Sport.

Instead, Gustav Davidsson is called up to the matches against Spain, who is the team captain in Hammarby on a daily basis and has impressed in the Handball League.

- Gustav is a player who can be used both as a middle nine and left nine and in many other places.

It's an exciting player.

Several heavy interruptions

Albin Lagergren and Lucas Pellas have also previously declined offers due to injury.

What do you think the difficulties might be when you are missing a lot of people?

- There are many new ones and we have very little time because the match is already tomorrow.

It's about creating a sense of security in our game and that as a brand new player, you should feel secure in the game we're going to play, says Solberg.

- We hope we have a good match, but we face good opposition so it will be tough.

SVT broadcasts the meeting against Spain tomorrow evening starting at 19.10.
