To be able to start in the Vasaloppet, you must be born in 2004 or earlier.

The Swedish talent Alvar Myhlback was born in 2006. But he was still allowed to start in Sunday's Vasalopp, after receiving a dispensation from the Swedish Skiing Association.

The 16-year-old became the youngest rider ever in the classic and also came in eighth place.

- It is almost inhumanly good.

It is unique, says expert Mathias Fredriksson.

"I am so happy"

Myhlback himself beams with joy afterwards.

- I am so happy.

Finally it sat.

I finally got everything right.

It's so nice to feel that I'm where I want to be and that it's as good as it can be, he says.
