The star Marcus Ericsson secured the victory in Florida after a huge drama during the final stage of the competition.
David Malukas and Will Power initially looked set to take the win, but the leaders crashed.
Instead, Pato O'Ward took over as leader.
He too would thus drive away and Ericsson was finally able to claim a win in the premiere.
