The speed skating world championship held in the Netherlands held the final day of the competition on the 5th, and Miho Takagi won the bronze medal in the women's 1500 meters.

Four events were held on the final day of the tournament on the 5th, of which Takagi, the world record holder of this event and the silver medalist at the Beijing Olympics last year, participated in the women's 1500 meters.



In the final group, Takagi passed the 700 meters in the first half in the fifth fastest time overall, and in the second half he showed tenacious skating that made the most of his inherent endurance, finishing in 1:54.39 and winning the bronze medal.



This is Takagi's second bronze medal at this year's event, following the women's 1,000m. Together with the previous World Distance Championships, Takagi has won a total of 11 medals at the world championships, the most for any Japanese athlete.



Other Japanese athletes were Ayano Sato, who won in this event at the Beijing Games, and placed 10th with a time of 1:55.76, while Yuna Onodera was 19th with a time of 2:017.



The winner was Antoinette Raipuma of the Netherlands who marked 1 minute 53 seconds 54.



In the men's 1500 meters, Taiyo Nonomura was 11th with a time of 1'45.55, Kazuya Yamada was 14th with a time of 1'46.20, and Masaya Yamada was 15th with a time of 1'46.54.



The winner was 18-year-old American Jordan Stoltz, who marked 1:43.59, and achieved a triple crown in the men's 500m and 1,000m.
