William Poromaa became the best Swede in the men's skiathlon, when he finished fifth.

- The body feels good.

Then it is clear that I hope for a medal.

That's what I'm going for.

I get to take my best result at the WC with me, and look ahead, he says.

It must be awesome to go into the WC with a medal as your goal?

- Absolutely.

to feel that you have taken a step and that you are up and fighting for it.

It's very fun.

Today awaits 15 kilometers free, a race that Poromaa sees as a tough challenge.

- It is the distance in which I feel that I may have the least chance, but I still see it as a good chance.

I have to try to go for it and hope I have a good day.

"Will do everything to get that medal"

The Swedish men are waiting for the first championship medal since 2017. When William Poromaa has to answer the question if he feels extra pressure from it, he answers like this:

- I do not know.

I feel pressure most of the time, from myself and from everything else.

It's always there.

I will do everything I can to get that medal.

If it's not enough, it's just home and work, I won't stay until it's there at home, he says.

Is it a difficult pressure?

- I'm used.

But I try to turn it into something positive instead.

I enjoy it.

The men's distance race starts at 12:30 p.m.
