One of Sweden's biggest running stars has left the west coast to live a double life: training, competition, camps, travel and championships are combined with the prestigious School of Economics in Stockholm, full-time.

The calendar is flooded with assignments, group work and exams, while Andreas Kramer commutes between school, the apartment in Vasastan and training in the north.

The trainer is available remotely in Gothenburg.

- Here in Stockholm, I've had to orient myself around a bit, about where I should train and which gym I should go to, but it's working well now, he says.

Five years since the European Championship silver

It has been five years since Kramer, as a 21-year-old, took EC silver outdoors, Sweden's first international middle-distance medal in 72 years.

But since then there have been no more medals.

- In a way, it is useful to have with me going forward, that I know that everything does not always go perfectly.

I have to get everything right in the same race, and get a little better at everything.

Above all, I want to be able to show in the championship that I can overtake everyone at the end.

The indoor season has been successful: three victories in five international races suggest a medal chance in the EC, which would also be good ignition fluid for the WC this summer.

But the double life, as I said, requires success on several fronts.

Soon it's exam period.

- I feel very busy and important, like I always have important things to do, says Andreas Kramer with a laugh about life in Stockholm.

SVT Play: From Thursday to Sunday, SVT broadcasts the indoor EC in athletics from Istanbul.
