Liverpool coach Jürgen Klopp is close to running out of credit for the Reds fans, after the team fell to a goalless draw against Crystal Palace in the 25th round of the English Premier League.

And after the resounding loss to Real Madrid 2-5 in the Champions League, the “Reds” did not succeed in healing some of the effects of that defeat, and they also failed to score the Crystal Palace window.

Klopp made statements after the match, in which he justified the reasons for this tie, and defended his team's players, but this time the Liverpool fans did not like it, according to the British "givemesport" website.

Klopp said, "In fact, I did not see any impact on the team from the Real Madrid match. If we had scored, we would have returned to our city as winners."

But Klopp referred to the accumulation of matches and their physical impact on the team, as he explained, "What the team is going through is a physical matter. Believe me, it would be a big difference if we played fewer matches per week."

🗣 "This will not be the season as they look at the history books and say let's look at that season again and again. There will not be big movies about it."

The Reds fans were not convinced by the 55-year-old coach's justifications, describing them as "flawed arguments", given that all the big teams that compete in all tournaments play many matches during the season.

Unlike last season, Liverpool is far from competing for the Premier League title, bid farewell to the FA Cup and the League Cup, and stands one step away from exclusion from the Champions League.

Klopp admitted that his team would not be able to score 5 goals against the hosts because of the defensive way he performed the match.

Klopp said, "With the passage of time, Crystal was falling back and the team became more defensive. In such a situation, we cannot win 5 goals, even if we score from the beginning."

"I think the crowd got bored with Crystal Palace's defense," he continued.

Liverpool currently ranks seventh in the “Premier League” table, with 37 points, and is 9 points away from fourth place.

Liverpool will host Wolverhampton at Anfield next Wednesday (March 1, 2023) in the match postponed for the seventh round.
