When Italian Sofia Goggia finished with a time of 1:26.81, she roared her joy in front of the crowd in Crans-Montana, Switzerland.

The strong run resulted in a new World Cup victory, as she was 15 hundredths faster than Federica Brignone, also from Italy.

A message of strength for Goggia, who was responsible for a serious blunder at the WC.

In pursuit of her first WC gold, the 30-year-old was washed up after she went straight through a gate.

Laura Gauche, from France, came third in the competition.
