Kristoffer Karlsson was defeated by Qiu Dang in his quarter-final in the Europe Top 16. The hope was thus for Truls Möregårdh, who would meet Liam Pitchford in the quarter-final.
And the Swede got off to a good start.
He had a two-set lead after four played (11-8, 4-11, 11-3, 11-3).
But then it turned around.
Pitchford produced an impressive turnaround and took three straight sets.
It meant that he advanced to the semi-finals with 4-3, while Möregårdh had to thank himself.
